Director of Music
Dr. Jason A. Wright is director of music and organist here at All Saints Episcopal Church, where he directors a program consisting of choral and instrumental ensembles for children, youth, and adults. He also oversees the music for our alternative service, Saturday@5, the Arts at All Saints Concert Series, and is the lead musician for the Southern Deanery of The Episcopal Church in South Carolina.
Dr. Wright comes to us with a varied background in music having been a professional church musician for over two decades, on the music faculties of elementary and secondary schools, and at the collegiate level. He is published in the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (McNeil Robinson), The Choral Journal, The Journal of the Anglican Association of Musicians, and The Organist’s Companion. He is an active member of the Anglican Association of Musicians, the American Guild of Organists, American Choral Directors Association, and the Royal School of Church Music in America. He has given workshops, adjudicated choral festivals, organ competitions, appeared as guest conductor, and given recitals at prestigious venues across the United States and the UK.
Dr. Wright is a graduate of The University of South Carolina, The University of North Carolina – Greensboro, East Carolina University, Indiana University, and the University of Notre Dame, where he earned degrees and graduate certificates with honors in choral conducting, organ performance, sacred music, liturgical theology, music education, and higher education administration.
